Fateh Sagar Lake is a peaceful lake which is located in the north-west direction of the city of Udaipur and is considered to be a prominent location of tourist attraction. History:

The existence of this beautiful lake dates back to the year 1687 when Maharana Jai Singh constructed the Fateh Sagar Lake, but unfortunately after two hundred years a heavy flood washed away the earthen bund which was formed by the erstwhile lake. Thereafter, it was in the year 1889, when the “Connaught Dam” was built by Maharana Fateh Singh on Lake Dewali with a view to commemorate the Duke of Connaught who was the son of Queen Victoria, who visited Udaipur during those times. It was only because of this dam that the place at which lake was located got enlarged, which was later renamed as the infamous Fateh Sagar Lake.
